American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course

This class is an opportunity for young adults, 15 and up, to earn a Lifeguarding Certification. In this class you receive the Lifeguarding Manual, CPR face mask, Lifeguarding with Standard First Aid, CPR/AED for the Lifeguard, Blood borne Pathogens, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.

  • You must show that you meet the prerequisites to a swim coach at Eagle Pointe prior to signing up for this class. This course is for experienced swimmers. 
  • After passing prerequisites and paying for class in full, you will be emailed access to the home study course
  • After completing the 7 hour online course print the certificate of completion
  • Attend all in-person sessions – You must show your certificate of completion

After the swimming requirements are met and you've paid for your class, you will be issued your book and study materials. It is strongly recommended that you study the material and practice the prerequisites because you will have to swim them at the deep water pool to pass the course. Junior Lifeguarding Camp

Cost: $99

Junior Lifeguard Camp provides an enjoyable pre-certification program for young teens on how to handle themselves safely in a variety of water situations. They will enjoy working as part of a team as they tackle challenges and practice key maneuvers. Fun, safety and new skills are all part of this exciting program.
During this class, you will earn a Standard First Aid and CPR certification.*
Prerequisites: Your child must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle, tread water for one minute, and swim underwater for 10 feet.

*This is a fun camp to spark interest in lifeguarding and improve personal water safety and is not a lifeguard certification program.

American Heart Association Heartsaver
First Aid / CPR / AED

AHA’s Heartsaver courses are designed to prepare students to provide first aid, CPR, and use an AED in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
Heartsaver Instructor-led training is conducted in a classroom setting and features group interaction and hands-on coaching and feedback from an AHA Instructor.
Heartsaver blended learning courses include an online portion that can be completed either at work, home, or wherever students have Internet access. Upon successful completion of the online portion, students attend a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

*Required by hospitals.
The AHA’s new BLS Course has been updated to include science and education from the 2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both pre-hospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

In-Person Training

Cost: $50 per person
In this instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

American Red Cross Basic Life Support

The purpose of the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) course is to ensure that individuals with a duty to respond (public safety professionals and healthcare provider(s) have the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. The course emphasizes active, hands-on learning and uses scenario activities to help participants learn how to provide CPR, use an AED and relieve an obstructed airway for adult, child and infant patients.
